Your Only Obligation is to the Person You Will Become!

Michael Jackson, in my humble opinion, was the king of pop. He was one of the greatest artists of all time. I liked all of his music, his dancing and even his personal style. One of my favourite songs of his was ‘Man in the Mirror’. It was released before I was born, but I grew up listening to it while trying to learn his dance moves.

The lesson he taught through his words has grown with me. As I matured with understanding, one of the lessons I learned is that; there are only a few things in this life that we can control or change. Another is that the first thing we should ever try to control or change is ourselves.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.” — Mahatma Gandhi

Your only obligation in this life, based on my personal belief, is to be the best version of yourself.

Also, the best version of you is not the one that everyone will love and admire. It is the version of you that you can be honest and authentic with. The version of you that you will be happy to live with, for the rest of your life, or eternity, whichever one comes first.

How you become that person. I have no clue. I am still working on finding that answer. Even then, my answer wont be…
