What race is the verse above referring to, you might ask? Most humans understand it to mean the proverbial journey through life. A race is an objective that usually yields some prize or promise of validation at the end. In life, we will experience many challenges as we strive to complete our many objectives and goals. A skill that is required for us all to make it through to the final objective, to the end, is endurance.

But we don’t want to just make it to the end. Most of us desire to experience a fulfilling journey in life. And the challenges associated with our objectives can sometimes be unpredictable, spontaneous, or even feel impossible to endure or overcome. They will come in many forms and in different areas of our lives, and we will need a skill that is both translatable and multi-dimensional. One such skill is endurance.

Endurance is one of the most challenging disciplines that a person can cultivate in their life. It is the ability to persist through difficulties, to push beyond one’s limits, and to maintain focus and determination even in the face of adversity.

It is a skill that must be practiced. Both voluntarily before the onset of facing any challenge and during the challenges.
