Animals also want and need to feel loved, safe and supported. They need more than food, shelter and a leash. Animals, especially domesticated pets, have complex emotions just like humans. And as such, they need reassurance, attention, comfort, and cuddles. They also need exercise in the form of walks and play. They need psychological stimulation and medical care, be it regular baths and visits to the vet. They even appreciate vacation trips. My pets do; they love to travel.

Humans have domesticated a variety of pets from the other families of the animal kingdom. Dogs, cats, birds, snakes, lizards, monkeys, fish, spiders, rabbits, hamsters, squirrels, mice, chickens, horses, cows, peacocks, etc. The list of animals you can find in the home of a pet owner range from typical to exotic, cute and cuddly to…… oh hell naaaa!!!!

Since scientists have found that animals are very good at sensing and recognizing illness in humans, the roles of pets have transformed. Some animals can sense physical and psychiatric disorders in humans and can provide support by alerting others of their human distress and even comforting their humans to provide therapeutic relief.
